Doha: Qatar Petroleum (QP) has handed over donations of its employees to the Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) representing their contribution in the organisation’s projects for the benefit of Syrian refugees.
Mohammed Ahmed Al Rashid, Head of Media of QP, handed over the cheque amounting to QR297,162 to Saleh bin Mubarak Al Kuwari, Consultant for Resources Development at QRCS.
“We are delighted to extend our support to the humanitarian projects of the Qatar Red Crescent Society, and it is very gratifying to know that our contribution would make a positive impact in the lives of many people who are adversely affected by the ongoing unrest in Syria,” said Ali Nasser Telfat, Acting Director of the Office of the QP Chairman and Managing Director and Acting Manager for Public Relations and Communications of QP.
In his comments, Al Kuwari said: “We would like to express our gratitude to all QP staff for their donations which contribute to the fundraising campaign launched by the Qatar Red Crescent Society, to the aid of Syrian refugees.”
The ceremony, which was held at QP headquarters, was also attended by Mohammed Rashid Al Khater, Acting Head of Administration Section of QP.
The event is the third handover of donations from QP staff in support of the humanitarian causes of the Syrian people.
The first donation was delivered last June to the Sheikh Thani bin Abdullah Foundation for Humanitarian Services (RAF), contributing to its campaign, and another chequek was delivered on September 18 to Qatar Charity.
