Doha: A 30kg prohibited tobacco was seized by Customs authorities at Hamad International Airport.
In a social media post, Customs stated it has foiled a smuggling attempt of a banned substance which was hidden inside a passenger's bag.
It also affirmed that a seizure report has been issued and the substance was delivered to authorities.
Last week, Customs also thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large amount of Captagon tablets into Qatar. The contraband was found hidden inside a lighting device enclosed in the wooden pallets. A total of 81,568 Captagon tablets, reaching a weight of 13.25 kg, were seized.
