A sand tiger shark which had swallowed a smooth dogfish shark was caught by researchers at the University of Delaware’s Ocean Exploration, Remote Sensing, Biogeography Lab. The researchers had baited a hook with a menhaden, a common marine fish, to capture sand tiger sharks that had previously been tagged. The bait was taken by the dogfish, which was swallowed by the tiger shark.
