Doha: A delegation of Civil Defence Department of the Ministry of Interior visited and gave gifts to patients at Al Wakrah Hospital’s (AWH) Burns Section and Intensive Care Unit.
The delegation included Brigadier Aman Al Sulaiti, Assistant Director-General of the department; Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Ibrahim Al Asmakh, Director, Support Section; Captain Jaber Mohamed Al Marri, Head, Education Section; and Captain Jaber Hamad Al Marri, Civil Defence Officer in Al Wakrah. The team was welcomed by Wilson Ross, CEO, AWH, and Dr Mahmoud Al Heidous, Medical Director, AWH.
Dr Al Heidous said such visits play a crucial role in patients’ psychological recovery and reflect how the community cares for them.
He said since its transfer to AWH, the Burns Section has become the main burns centre in Qatar, providing treatments for all types of cases and conducting plastic surgery when required. He said the section includes an intensive care unit and an operation theatre designed for burns cases.
Brig. Al Sulaiti said: “The visit aimed to promote and consolidate relationship between our department and Hamad Medical Corporation and AWH.
“It also offered us the opportunity to familiarise ourselves with issues related to patients’ safety and security and enabled us to establish any solutions to any problems that might occur in cases of disasters such as fires.” The Peninsula
