Doha: Al Jazeera Media Network Chairman Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani yesterday opened the 10th Al Jazeera Forum under the theme ‘Regional and International Struggle in the Middle East.
The forum brings together political leaders, intellectuals, journalists and activists from the Arab world and beyond to explore and build dialogue on the future of the region in light of its current situation.
Sheikh Hamad welcomed the participants and guests who took part in this year’s World Media Summit of International Press Institute’s World Congress in Doha over the past two days.
Since its inception, Al Jazeera Forum has served as an annual platform for dialogue where political leaders, intellectuals and activists from around the world exchange ideas and visions on current issues and research, their causes and implications, Sheikh Hamad said.
He said the forum is taking place under conditions and important transformations experienced by the Arab region in particular, accompanied by regional and international struggle the region had never seen in several decades.QNA
