Doha, Qatar: The International Horticultural Exhibition Expo 2023 Doha Qatar has celebrated Tajikistan Day at the celebration square at the International Zone which featured a broad range of cultural activities and live artistic shows that vividly reflect the Tajik patrimony.
The celebration was held in the presence of HE Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaie, HE Minister of Agriculture in Tajikistan Qurbon Hakimzoda, alongside a host of Their Excellencies ministers, officials and heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to the State of Qatar.
HE Minister of Agriculture in Tajikistan commended the efforts made by the State of Qatar in hosting a premium edition of the international horticultural exhibition, underscoring his country's interest in water issue to achieve the sustainable development, along with its efforts in the United Nations to back global initiatives that aim to constitute a better understanding of water issues at the global level and achieve social and economic development, as well as environmental sustainability, peace and stability in general.
Following the celebration, the officials attending the event paid a visit to the Tajik pavilion that showcases the Tajik resources, culture, landmarks, arts, history, and heritage, as the nation embraces the Islamic and cultural identity, in addition to displaying the most prominent and renowned agricultural products.
Handmade carpets and prayers are of utmost importance within the pavilion, while those in charge of the pavilion familiarize the visitors with this industry, along with its history, and place in the Tajik popular memory, which boasts of the Islamic religion.
The pavilion showcases handmade rosaries as a unique Tajik product, as well as a collection of the finest rosaries made of alabaster, precious stones, et al, with leather and textile products coming in the next place within the pavilion and are distinguished by bright colors and drawings derived from the Tajik nature.
The pavilion also exhibits women's products showcasing the status of Tajik women in society. It expresses good taste with its shawls and scarves made of wool embroidered in bright colors with wonderful hand embroidery touches.
In addition, the pavilion showcases samples of raw cotton and its products, as it is one of the most critical agricultural crops in Tajikistan.
It also displays mountain white honey products known to be of the finest types, in addition to a mini market for dried fruits, such as figs, peaches, sunshine, nuts, and sweets associated with occasions, along with handmade heritage products that depict the Islamic identity and culture of the Tajik people, primarily traditional crafts and textiles with designs based on flowers drawn on silk or cotton, as well as embroidery colors.
The pavilion primarily promotes the tourist attractions of Tajikistan with its walls adorned with pictures of these tourist landmarks.
