Doha: CEO of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), H E Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al Thani praised strong competitions during the HE Sheikh Joaan Bin Hamad Al Thani Rifle Day that saw 10 thrilling races at Al Rayyan Racecourse yesterday.
Sheikh Abdulaziz said that the organisational level of this race is good, and this indicates that Qatar is always special in organising sporting events, as well as the vibes were so good, whether at the level of competitions or activities attended and enjoyed by the public in all different groups.
He emphasised that the strong competition of the race motivates riders to do their best in the HH the Amir Sword Festival, which will take place next month.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC), Issa bin Mohammed Al Mohannadi, expressed his happiness of the great success achieved by horse race on a rifle and the prizes of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani.
In statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Mohannadi said that the participation in the race was distinguished and the competition was strong.
In addition, the vibes were splendid in light of the public’s interest in horse activity and racing. He pointed out that the winning of Al-Wasmiya Farm and Wathnan Racing were expected, as they have been achieving several titles in local and international races.
He pointed out that this season is so special, adding: “Qatari horses have become very competitive on a global level thanks to strong competition and the development of local races, and this is an indication that the level of racing in Qatar is strong, and the evidence is that the horses that come out here win and earn strong runs abroad.”
The Acting Executive Director of (QREC), Badr bin Muhammad Al Darwish, emphasised in a similar statement that the race indicates that HH the Amir Sword Festival will be strong, especially since the club has prepared for this very well. He pointed out that the financial prizes have increased to a total value of nearly $10m.
He revealed that the festival will witness a great participation from outside Qatar, noting the preparation of a number of accompanying programmes and activities.
