Doha: InterContinental Doha was busy last year adding new options to its bouquet of services including a world-class spa, a new wing with luxurious rooms, club lounge and a bigger Belgian Café.
The hotel have added a new wing with 120 luxurious Club InterContinental rooms and suites and an exclusive Club Lounge, which is one of the biggest club lounges in the region.
The club rooms will have a separate check-in counter and exclusive access to the Club Lounge.
“We are going through an exciting time with so many new outlets having their soft opening. The grand opening to celebrate these new additions will be held in the first quarter of 2017,” revealed Janet Turner, Area Director of Sales and Marketing, InterContinental Hotels group.
Club rooms are aimed at high-end business travellers and people from Qatar and the region, who like to relax in a luxurious environment on weekends.
“We will customize weekend packages depending on what the client wants. If they want a spa retreat, we can tie up with our world-class spa or if they like a weekend of golf, we will coordinate with the Golf Club as we are the exclusive caterers of the golf club or they can use the beach and other facilities and enjoy the luxury. There are many options available,” she added.
In November 2016, the hotel unveiled the InterContinental Doha residences with 76 apartments (1, 2 and 3-bed) and 18 villas, out of which three are located right on the beach.
“The guests staying at the residences can use all hotel facilities and also have an exclusive private beach and swimming pool for themselves. We already have people staying there and are getting many enquiries for the same,” Turner said.
The hotel has pushed the limits of luxury for the all-new spa opened in the new wing. The Spa InterContinental is massive with 16 treatment rooms and a huge menu of options to choose from.
The ever-smiling Spa Manager, Stephanie Arrivé, has many years of experience in the field and has worked in some of the best spas around the world.
“Most spas concentrate on relaxation. We offer much more than regular massages for relaxation. We also focus on beauty and have many treatment plans, which can be further customized depending on the customer needs,” Arrivé said.
The spa also offers a slimming treatment, which according to Arrivé, will show results in just 10 days. Result or no result, it is a great way to spend 10 days of your life. Getting pampered by those great masseurs in a luxurious spa with all modern amenities and serene décor is an indulgence worth every penny.
Spa InterContinental will change the way you look at a golf ball again. They have made a unique instrument with golf balls, which is used in their signature spa therapy. This contraption, introduced by Arrive, gives more depth to the massages and is kind of similar to the bamboo massages.
“The size, shape and firmness of a golf ball ensures that the deepest sore spots in your muscles are reached, relieved, and revitalized,” one of the masseurs explained.
“Our luxurious SPA brands include: Natura Bissé, BAIJA Paris, Intraceuticals, Quartz Bed, Spa Wave bed, and the world-renowned Bastien-Gonzalez manicure and pedicure,” Arrivé said.
“Our manicure and pedicure is different from most other beauty salons and spas as it is a dry procedure, not the ones where you soak fingers in water. This is a better and effective way to do it,” she added.
The spa also have an exclusive indoor pool for women, who need privacy and this concept has been replicated for hair salons also by having separate salons for men, women and a third one for veiled ladies.
“We want to go the extra mile by offering maximum privacy to clients. That’s why we have a separate section for veiled women and also a VIP corner. We don’t charge anything extra for these,” Elie Abou Kassem, Managing Director of salons, said.
The popular Belgian Café also received a major facelift. The new Belgian Café features an extensive terrace offering views of the Arabian Sea and the Doha skyline.
With a capacity of over 400 covers, the world’s largest Belgian Café has a new menu and more beverages to choose from.
“We did a soft opening on Monday and without any publicity or promotion had a full house the next day. The café is very popular with Doha crowd and now there is also space for private parties. We expect even bigger crowd as the news spread among foodies,” Turner said.
Looks like 2017 will an exciting year for InterContinentalDoha.
