Doha: The Supervisory Committee of Beautification of Roads and Public Places in Qatar unveiled two artworks under the Qatar National Day (QND) slogan Ancestral Meadows: A Matter of Trust in Corniche.
The artwork is by graffiti artist Hasan Bahu to which calligrapher Bashayer Al Badr added her innovative touches with Arabic calligraphy to highlight the QND slogan of the year.
The mural depicts several sceneries from Qatar’s environment, stressing the importance of safeguarding the land of Qatar, and further reflecting the Government’s aim of raising environmental awareness among children, as well as all generations.
The Committee stated that “on occasion of Qatar National Day, the artists used their quills to artistically express the ideals of pride and allegiance, which embody the most honorable national sentiments, and which were the source of inspiration to the artists.”
Eng Sarah Kafood, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, said that the mural "Ancestral Meadows: A matter of Trust" is a contribution of the Committee in Qatar's celebrations of its National Day, to express dignity, loyalty and pride in belonging to this generous country.
The mural is dedicated to the artists, to celebrate Qatar national day, reflecting the sense of loyalty and belongingness through creative and unique artworks.
