Doha: The Qatar Motor and Motorcyle Federation’s (QMMF) rider Antony West won the Qatar Superbike (Round Three), winning both the races here at the Losail International Circuit, yesterday.
“I gave my best in both the races,” West said after winning the round.
“In the first race I had a problem with the breaks in the starting laps and guys behind me were putting so much pressure me.
“Nasser (Al Naimi) really rode strong and closing in, so I had to push more to retain my pole position. In the second race I had some adjustments made on the bike and it was easier than the first one”.
Meshal Al Naimi takes second position after a hard battle with Nasser Al Malki.
Alex Cudlin had a problem with his engine and finished 13th.
Cudlin said: “My mechanics are doing the best they can to get my bike up and running but unfortunately I was not be able to take part in the race two of the round (three) since the mechanical problems will take some time to be solved. I hope to get back on track in upcoming round.”
Meanwhile, in the Supersport category, Abdulaziz Binladen took the pole position in both races. Victoria Kis who is in the Losail Asian Road Racing Series won both races.
