Kinshasa: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) HE Felix Tshisekedi held an official session of talks on Monday at the Presidential Office in Kinshasa.

At the outset of the session, HE the President Felix Tshisekedi welcomed HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation, voicing his pleasure at receiving His Highness for the first time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, noting that His Highness's visit will enhance bilateral cooperation between the two countries across various fields.
His Excellency also extended thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for His Highness's and the State of Qatar's efforts in supporting peace in the region, and for the signing of the Doha Framework Agreement for Peace between the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Congo River Alliance "March 23 Movement," considering it an important achievement in advancing the peace process between the parties and ending the suffering of thousands of displaced citizens.
For his part, HH the Amir expressed his gratitude to HE the President of the DRC for the warm welcome and generous hospitality. He emphasized that cooperation between the two countries continues to progress remarkably, and affirmed his eagerness to further strengthen and expand all areas of this partnership in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly nations.
His Highness also thanked HE the President for his confidence in the State of Qatar and for choosing it to participate in the mediation efforts that led to the signing of the Doha Framework Agreement for Peace. On this occasion, His Highness congratulated HE the President and his people, and wished that all stages of the agreement would be crowned with success. In this regard, His Highness affirmed the State of Qatar's commitment to continuing its efforts to support peace in the region and the world.

Talks during the session focused on bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields, particularly in economy and investment, in addition to discussing key regional and international developments and issues.
Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry HE Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Sayed, along with a number of Their Excellencies members of the offcial delegation accompanying HH the Amir attended the session.
On the DRC's side, the session was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Communications, and Public Works HE Jean-Pierre Bemba, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Francophonie and the Congolese Diaspora HE Therese Kayikwamba Wagner, Minister of Youth HE Grace Emie Kutino, Chief of Staff to the President HE Anthony Nkinzo, and a number of senior officials.
HH the Amir and HE the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo also held a bilateral meeting during which they discussed the cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to develop and enhance them. They also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.
HE the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo hosted a luncheon banquete in honor of HH the Amir and the official accompanying delegation.
