Seoul: The United States designated North Korea as a state sponsor of terrorism, the common stance of South Korea and the US to continue with efforts to bring North Korea to the negotiating table for a peaceful resolution of its nuclear issue remains unchanged.

A South Korean Foreign Ministry source said in a statement issued by (Yonhap) news agency that the US decision came as part of the international community's efforts to achieve nuclear disarmament in North Korea by imposing sanctions and severe pressure on it.

It added that the two countries will continue their close collaboration and consultations at all levels, and to continue with efforts to bring North Korea to the negotiating table for a peaceful resolution of its nuclear issue remains unchanged.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump announced on Monday that North Korea was being restored to the US blacklist of state sponsors of terrorism.
