The Ministry of Culture and Sports yesterday launched the first phase of e-service which include 30 online services. The services which use smart phones and the website of the ministry, aims to ease services provided by the ministry saving time and efforts of the public as well enhancing public interaction with the ministry’s activities.
This step comes as part of the ministry’s vision which enhance the second phase of National Development Strategy (2017-2022) and to implement the government’s digital strategy 2020, said Bassam Al Yafi’e, Director of Information Technology Department at the ministry.
Al Yafi’e highlighted that the aim of the service is to improve the ministry’s administrative services provided to individuals and companies seeking services related to printing, publishing, radio broadcasting, research and cultural studies. The e-services have many advantages along its use in smart phones, it is also could be linked to different government services, business process management (BPM) system or support of workflow system and access to reports and data helping decision makers. Al Yafia’e pointed out that the second phase of the e-service will include links with other ministries, authorities and institutions and this will end paper work at the ministry.
Along the services of granting license for printing and publishing, individuals and companies can get license for advertisements, artistic production, import and export, distribution, printing press, newspaper, issuance of journalism IDs, booklets and cinema showcase, said Al Yafia’e.
As well companies seeking license for radio and TV channel could apply through this application, Al Yafia’e stressed.
