Doha, Qatar: Ambassador of the United States of America to the State of Qatar Timmy T Davis in a social media post extended his gratitude to Qatar for its mediation efforts that led to the release of two Americans held hostage by Hamas.

US President Joe Biden in his statement on securing the release of two Americans taken hostage had also thanked Qatar for their partnership in this work.

Resharing US President's post on the release of the hostages, Ambassador Davis wrote, "I’d like to extend my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the State of Qatar’s mediation efforts, which led to the release of two Americans held hostage by Hamas."

He further quoted  US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and wrote, "As @SecBlinken said in his press conference here in Doha, “I’m grateful for the urgency Qatar has brought to this effort, and to the work we continue to do as partners and allies to prevent this conflict from spreading.”"

Hamas’s Al-Qassam Brigades freed the hostages “for humanitarian reasons” after Qatari mediation efforts, its spokesman Abu Ubaida said on Friday.
