Doha: The management of the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) held a meeting with the owners of Purebred Arabian show horses at the QREC Grandstand yesterday.

Present during the meeting were Hassan Abdulla Al Mannai, Head of the QREC Horse Show Section, and Saad Ali Al Kubaisi, Deputy Head of the Horse Show Section.

The meeting was held at the invitation of QREC in order to discuss the preparations for the 2021/2022 season.

QREC had already announced the new season programme, which includes 12 events of shows, festivals and auctions, making a new record in the number of show horse events organised by QREC in one season.

During the meeting, several topics related to the approaching new season were discussed. Owners raised their opinions and remarks on certain matters, which would maximise the benefits of the new season’s events and ensure they will be produced in an optimum manner.

Following the meeting, the Head of the QREC Horse Show Section Hassan Abdulla Al Mannai praised the owner’s positive interaction and keenness to attend the meeting and consult on the new season.

“This meeting is part of the regular communication between QREC and owners of show horses and it was very productive”, he said.

“The relationship between QREC and owners is based on a common wish to cooperate, advance the standard of shows and work towards supporting the owners on an ongoing basis.”

The 2021/2022 horse show season is scheduled to commence September 24 with the Start-of-Season Auction.

The season will include three auctions and nine national and international shows, involving three shows, which will be held for the first time and these are the 1st Qatar Arabian Horse Breeders Cup, the 1st Qatar Arabian Local Bred Horse Show and the 1st Doha International Purebred Arabian Horse Show.
