Doha: Under the patronage of CEO H E Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al Thani, Qatar Media Corporation (QMC) organised ‘Annual Ghabga’ on Tuesday.
The event was attended by a large number of media professionals including Editors-in-chief of Qatari newspapers and employees of the QMC. The Editor-in-Chief of The Peninsula, Dr. Khalid Mubarak Al-Shafi also attended the event. A group of artists who contributed in presenting valuable programmes and series during the holy month were also hosted on Ghabga.
H E Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al Thani said that QMC is the great house that brings together the people of media and creativity under its umbrella. He praised the efforts made by its channels and radio stations during the blessed month of Ramadan through programmes and artistic productions which received appreciations from a large segment of followers.
“We are pleased today to talk extensively with the corporation’s employees and media cadres, which are fruitful discussions that we are keen to repeat on successive occasions throughout the year,” said Sheikh Abdulaziz.
He praised the successes achieved by Qatar TV and Radio during the programme cycle dedicated to the holy month of Ramadan, where many targeted programmes and coverage of events and series were presented, considering that they were appropriate and kept pace with aspirations, and achieved the desired goals.
During his tour of the studios of the Ramadan Ghabga programme, which deals with local issues related to citizens, the CEO stressed that the topics should touch the aspirations of the people, and that television should be the link with viewers inside Qatar, stressing that this is what the Qatar Media Corporation seeks and pursues in its goals for the next stage.
Ali Al Sada, in-charge of managing the tasks and work of Qatar TV, stressed that the support of the CEO to the work teams in the institution constitutes a great incentive to achieve the best in each programme plan.
He said that the annual Ghabga gathered all the media professionals and participants in the success of the program plans for the corporation’s radios and channels.
He added: “We are pleased with the reactions, and we are working to meet all tastes in every program plan.”

Mohamed Nasser Al Mohannadi, Director of Qatar Radio said: “Gathering with media professionals and employees during Ramadan at the annual Ghabga comes as a unique opportunity to discuss what we have presented in Ramadan.”
He thanked H E Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al Thani, who was keen to be present to listen to the most important theses related to program plans in Ramadan.
Al Mohannadi noted that the radio made remarkable achievements in its programmes during the holy month. He said that the work teams at Qatar Radio prepared well before Ramadan to reach an integrated program plan that takes into account the privacy of the month and meets the aspirations of listeners.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Qatar Media Corporation toured the studios of the Ramadan Ghabga programme and was briefed on the progress of work. Ghabga is a daily Ramadan evening programme that presents interesting and useful events with a group of guests known for their expertise in the topics presented by Hassan Al Saai and Saad Burshid.
The programme presents a set of distinctive ideas and innovative solutions in all areas that touch the main axis of the episode and directly touch the lives of people in Qatar.
Among the most important topics discussed by the programme during Ramadan are the retirement law, the employment of Qataris in the public and private sectors, the demand for Qataris to pursue the profession of education, and marriage of people with disabilities in addition to multiple files related to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
However, ‘Al Busala’ which was presented by the broadcaster Ali Al Marri and the artist Nasser Muhammad, is a Ramadan competition that provides interest and information to viewers in addition to prize money.
