HE Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani (right), Minister of Economy and Commerce met with his Turkish counterpart Nihad Zibekji, on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly. During the meeting, they reviewed bilateral relations and aspects of joint cooperation, especially in the economic, trade and investment fields, and means of developing them. Qatar and Turkey have close economic and trade relations which reflected positively on the volume of trade exchange which reached during the first half of this year to about QR2bn ($547m). During the past years, a number of trade agreements and MoUs were signed between the two countries, including the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement and an Agreement on Reciprocal Promotion and Protection of Investments.
