Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Labour (MoL) has released its statistics for the second quarter of 2025, revealing a substantial increase in electronic services and field oversight activities.
According to the report, the Work Permits Department processed a total of 1,598,159 requests during the quarter.
A significant portion of this activity came from the renewal of general work permits, which accounted for over 1,012,750 applications.
Additionally, the department handled 71,310 applications for new establishment registrations and 73,216 for special work permits.
The statistics from the Labour Disputes Department highlight the Ministry's role in conflict resolution.
The department received 1,844 complaints from workers against establishments and resolved 3,358 complaints accordingly.
Furthermore, 1,593 cases were referred to the Labour Disputes Resolution Committees, which subsequently issued 1,484 decisions.
In its commitment to enforcing regulations, the Ministry’s Labour Inspection Department conducted a total of 8,947 inspection visits.
These efforts resulted in 595 warnings issued for the removal of violations and 723 violation reports filed against non-compliant companies, particularly those linked to the Wage Protection System.
The Ministry also carried out 730 inspection visits to recruitment offices to ensure compliance.
Within the Labour Relations Department, the Ministry processed 156,641 applications for the authentication of labour contracts.
The Occupational Safety and Health Department also maintained its robust oversight, performing 6,916 total inspection visits, including 4,613 to work sites and 2,303 to workers' accommodations.
These figures demonstrate the Ministry of Labour's significant progress in streamlining its services and expanding its field supervision to create a more transparent, secure, and productive labor market in Qatar.
