DOHA: Post box subscribers who don’t renew their annual subscriptions by March 31 risk losing the post box address, Q-Post has said.
Q-Post said in a press statement that the yearly subscription for its post office box service is from January 1 to December 31.
So the renewal of the subscription became due on January 1, 2016.
However, it seems that many customers haven’t so far renewed their subscription.
Q-Post said in a press statement: “You may not be aware that to receive mail in Qatar, you must use a post office box (P O Box) address. These boxes are located in a number of convenient places around the country and can be accessed
24x7”.  Post office box addresses are provided to both, personal and business users, and are available on an annually-paid subscription basis.
Q-Post has, therefore, advised customers who have not renewed their P O Box subscription and they wish to continue the service, to benefit from the multiple options offered by the company to renew their subscription by March 31 in order to avoid discontinuation of the service.
Subscription can also be renewed after March 31, 2016 but a “reopening” fee of QR100 is to be paid. However, there wouldn’t be any guarantee that the same post office box number would be re-allotted to the subscriber, since after March 31 the number can be transferred to another subscriber, said Q-Post.
Subscription renewal can be done at any of the 40 Q-Post branches or via Q-Post website (www.qatarposts.com) using a credit card.
Alternatively, one can also use the QNB website (www.qnb.com) or mobile app ‘Easylink’ under ‘utilities to settle’.
Meanwhile, Q-Post website says that the main post office has 25,000 electronically-operated post office boxes, which are the first of their kind in the world.
These are fully computerized electronic post office boxes. Elsewhere, there are more than 12,000 conventional post office boxes at 17 other branches across the country. The Peninsula
