London - Europe's main stock markets advanced at the start of trade on Friday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.27 percent at 6,981.23 points.
Elsewhere, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index added 0.36 percent to 11,942.16 points and the CAC 40 in Paris increased 0.14 percent to 5,037.18 compared with Thursday's close.
