Doha: The President of the French Olympic Committee (FOC), Denis Masseglia who visited the Aspire4Sport Exhibition and Conference said the event embodies the ambitions laid out in Qatar’s National Vision 2030, yesterday.
Masseglia’s remarks came on day three of the event, during a tour of the exhibition at the Aspire Dome. He was accompanied by Abdulaziz Al Mahmoud, President of Aspire4Sport.
“Qatar has successfully placed sport at the heart of its social development priority, and not because they are seeking a good reputation,” said Masseglia.
He added: “They have done this because they value sports as an important human development aspect of Qatar’s National Vision 2030.”
“Sports play a big role in social development by galvanising a country’s citizens to adopt healthy living, which Qatar has succeeded at. It truly serves as an example for the international community,” he explained.
Al Mahmoud said: “We are proud of the positive impression Aspire4Sport has made on the official French Olympic Committee, as this event is considered to be the biggest platform for the region’s sporting industry.”
“The resounding success of the fourth edition of Aspire4Sport shows that, year upon year, Aspire Zone Foundation continues to develop its capacity to host regional and international sporting events,” added Al Mahmoud.
