ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed, in a phone call today, with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, the latest developments of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

The Turkish presidency said in a statement that Erdogan stressed during the call that the vision of a diplomatic solution to the crisis must remain alive under all circumstances, adding that Turkey is ready to make all forms of contribution necessary to end this war through negotiations.

On February 24, Russia launched a military operation in Ukraine, followed by international rejection and economic sanctions against Moscow, which require that to end its operation, Kyiv abandon plans to join Western military entities, which the latter considers an "interference" in its sovereignty.
