Emir visits Qatar University

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani visited Qatar University to understand the latest projects the university is planning to meet the Qatar National Vision.
Vice Chairman of the Board of Regents Sheikh Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al Thani and President of Qatar University Dr Hassan Rashid Al Derham received the Emir on his arrival at the university.
The Emir started the visit with the girls' building of the College of Education and the Early Childhood Center. He met faculty, staff and students also attended one of the lectures.
Afterwards, the Emir visited the boy's building of the College of Engineering. Here his highness was briefed about the advanced education systems available at the college.
The Emir also visited the College of Medicine and toured the clinical skills lab and listened to part of the lectures.
The Emir concluded his visit with the university's research complex. He was briefed about the research conducted by the students and staff.
The Emir held a discussion with students on their current projects and he advised them to focus their efforts on what will benefit the society and make Qatar progress in scientific field.
The Emir also met with deans of the university's colleges and signed a statement and presented it to the students. The statement said that people are the most important aspect of building a nation and a country's biggest investment. It added that Qatar has invested in its youth and with them it will develop further with the aid of science.
