Members of the new Executive Committee of MES Alumni Association
Doha: MES Alumni Association, under the aegis of MES Indian School, Qatar’s first Indian school founded in 1974, was launched with a clear mandate to reunite the former students from around the world with the institute.
The institution takes great pride in their achievements and their progress through life and it is with this in mind that the school continues its association with its former students. Over 20,000 students have been associated with this pioneering institution.
The association held its annual general meeting on July 4, 2021, in Qatar where the newly appointed executive committee members were welcomed. The former President Ziad Usman expressed his confidence in the new executive committee and emphasised the importance of team spirit amongst its members and the body in general.
The meeting focused on the main strategies to enhance mutual support and interaction between the association, the school and its graduates.
In the past, the association had successfully conducted various events such as batch reunions, sports tournaments and charitable activities bringing together graduates with common interests and engaging them in meaningful programmes to give back to the community.

The newly formed office bearers for 2021-23 are as follows: Shaheen Shafi (president), Fazil Hameed (vice-president), Akbar Ali (general secretary), Nihad Ali (treasurer), and Muksith Thangal, Sajid Mahamood Ettol, Samra Mahboob and Sunil Kulangara as joint secretaries.
