Scattered rains with thunder expected on Monday and Tuesday

Doha: The country will be affected by an extension of a low pressure system during the period between Monday evening (March 21) and Tuesday evening (March 22) as skies are expected to become partly cloudy to cloudy with chances for scattered rains of variable intensity that could be thundery and accompanied by strong winds at times, meteorology department predicted.
The prevailing winds on Monday will be southeasterly to southwesterly moderate to fresh leading to above average rise in temperatures reaching more than 30 °C with dusty skies over some areas. Temperatures shall drop again on Tuesday as a result of the expected rains. The relative drop in temperatures is expected to continue on Wednesday and Thursday as the country will be affected by moderate to fresh northwesterly winds becoming strong over some areas with sea warnings for high waves and strong winds.
The Qatar Meteorology Department urged all residents to be cautious and to avoid sea activities during unstable weather and strong winds as well as to follow latest weather updates and warnings through different official social media accounts.
