Awareness campaign for winter campers

DOHA: Media & Traffic Awareness Section at the General Directorate of Traffic organised awareness campaign for winter campers in Leghweriya area in Al Shamal to create awareness about traffic safety.

Lieutenant Abdul Wahid Al Anzi, and Lieutenant  Mohamed Al kuwari, Traffic Awareness officers at Media & Traffic awareness section, visited  the campers and explained the basic concepts of safe driving during the camping season and ways to protect the driver. They also briefed about preparations and equipment that must be available in cars.

Lieutenant Abdul Wahid Al Anzi added that they should be aware about directions and should know how to drive in the turns and sand dunes to avoid accidents. He also advised campers to not to go far in the desert.
The visit was also attended by the Head of Al Shamal Traffic Department, Lieutenant Colonel, Abdullah Al Humaidi, who said that the Traffic Department is following up the traffic safety procedures in the camping areas, and there is a traffic patrol equipped with the latest technologies to help the campers in case of  any emergency happens.

The visit  include many camps where the winter campers exchanged conversations with traffic officers about the necessity of complying with the traffic safety requirements and maintaining the nature of the place as a nature reserve,  in addition to not speed  or doing anything that would disturb neighbors camping. 

Also it is essential to wear a helmet, gloves when riding a bike, and to use lamps and a raised flag to let others see you and avoid any accident.
