Awqaf Ministry showcases its work at DIBF

Doha: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs is participating with a distinguished pavilion at the Doha International Book Fair (DIBF) to introduce its most prominent programmes, activities, services, publications, and online programmes to the public.

The pavilion of the Ministry  includes six sections: the Department of Islamic Affairs, General Administration of Endowments, Zakat Fund, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, Department of Islamic Research and Studies, and Department of Advocacy and Religious Guidance.

The Department of Islamic Affairs corner contains a presentation of the most important Islamic publications and books of Islamic heritage. The General Administration of Endowments corner includes information about the endowment and how its proceeds are spent on the centres of teaching the Holy Quran inside Qatar.

The General Administration of Endowments’ corner displays a self-payment device that enables the public to participate in the six endowment banks and various endowments.

The Department of the Zakat Fund corner includes the most important publications related to the obligation of Zakat, educational brochures on Zakat, and the Zakat Fund’s publications.

To offer communities in Qatar awareness of the educational programmes and books to introduce Islam, the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center corner is offering publications in different languages.

The Ministry’s pavilion also includes a corner for the administration of Advocacy and religious guidance that introduces Islamweb’s library, and its 13 mobile applications, along with daily competitions.

There is also a corner for the Noble Qur’an and its Sciences section which aims to introduce the public to the “Learning Alphabet Lessons” service through an interactive screen. The Religious Guidance Department includes an external screen that displays to the public the most prominent advocacy and educational programmes offered by the Religious Guidance Department to segments of society.

The Department of Islamic Research and Studies section contains the publications of the Ummah Book series, publications of the Sheikh Ali bin Abdullah Al Thani International Endowment Award, and some other publications in Arabic and English.
