DOHA: The Cultural Village Foundation-Katara and the Ecuadorian Embassy will organise an event in May featuring the Ecuadorian band Tango Rawa.
Katara General Manager Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al Sulaiti and Ecuadorian Ambassador Kabalan Abi Saab met yesterday to discuss means of boosting mutual cultural cooperation as well as the preparations for the event.
Dr Al Sulaiti welcomed the proposal, saying that Katara welcomes anything that enriches the domestic and international cultural scene, adding that Katara constantly strives to extend bridges of communication among peoples and be open to different cultures and civilizations.
For his part, the Ecuadorian Ambassador hailed the efforts of Katara in providing a common ground between innovators and intellectuals from different nationalities and types of arts. Katara hosted an Ecuadorian cultural week in October 2013 which drew large crowds.The Peninsula
