DOHA: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment yesterday launched an exhibition at the winter market, Al Mazroua Yard in Umm Salal, featuring local dairy, fish and agricultural products. Eleven farms and companies are participating in the three-day event.

In May, a final exhibition will be held for all products displayed during the season. Tents will be allocated for each product, including flowers, said Abdurrahman Al Sulaiti, General Supervisor of the winter markets. He said the Animal Wealth Department is preparing for aqua-farming to encourage aquatic products such as fish and aquatic plants in the coming two weeks.
The exhibition aims to promote local products, support companies and animal farms and encourage them to increase production and contribute to food security, said Farhood Al Hajeri, Director of the department. The department will hold similar events at other winter markers to allow farmers to sell produce directly to consumers, he said and hoped that the coming events will ensure participation of more farmers and companies. He said the ministry is keen to provide consumers them with high-quality and fresh products. The Peninsula
