Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Qatar H E Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi stressed that the Omani-Qatari relations are brotherly, historical, linked by ties of kinship and common interests.
In exclusive statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the occasion of the National Day, His Excellency said that these relations were crowned by the recent auspicious visit of HM Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to Qatar, and the great reception that His Majesty received from his brother HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, as well as the warm welcome from the government and people of Qatar, which confirms the depth of relations between the two countries with their rooted history, developed present and bright future towards horizons of cooperation, integration and purposeful communication to achieve growth, prosperity, and stability for the two brotherly countries and the whole world.
Regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy, he said that the Qatari government dealt with the situation wisely and harmonised the necessities of preserving the health of society as a priority and not stopping the economys rotation by implementing the proactive plans and programs that were developed to confront this pandemic and its effects.
This, of course, reflects and indicates the extent of the great development witnessed by the State of Qatar, especially in its health and economic system, which is attested by competent international institutions, HE the Omani Ambassador explained.
The State of Qatar used to accompany its National Day celebrations every year by announcing great achievements that have been made and other great achievements that will be made, and this year was distinguished by hosting the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021, which brought together the Arab countries in Doha and gave a vivid example of strengthening the bonds of love and brotherhood among the Arab countries, HE Najib bin Yahya Al Balushi added.
This emphasizes the States success in hosting the largest and most popular upcoming event in the world, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, HE said, adding that he witnessed the tireless work and the completion of almost all stadiums a year before the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. These efforts confirm that the World Cup in Qatar will be unique and distinguished by all standards, he added.
On the dear occasion of the National Day, His Excellency conveyed the highest congratulations to HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, as well as to the Qatari people, wishing the government and people of the State of Qatar further prosperity and progress.
