The Health Control Section at Doha Municipality has registered a violation against a restaurant for violating Law No. 8 of 1990 on regulation of human food control.

The violation was registered during six inspection raids conducted by the Municipality officials in Al Mamoura area. The eatery was preparing food in unhealthy conditions.

Mohammed Ahmed Buhashim Al Sayed, health control section head at Doha Municipality, said that such inspection campaigns aim at catching violators and ensure that all food outlets are following food safety standards.

The campaigns aim also to increase awareness among the eatery staff in order to provide best services to consumers.

Earlier, an official source at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment told The Peninsula that to make work easier for inspectors, a proposal had been forwarded to the Minister of Municipality and Environment for opening a training centre for workers employed by eateries.

“The aim is to teach the restaurant staff how to deal properly with food and also educate them on food hygiene”.
