MES celebrates India’s 75th Independence Day

Doha: MES Indian School celebrated India’s 75th Independence Day with great gusto and vivacity. Exuding immense joie-de-vivre, students proudly recounted the nation’s glorious history and upheld decades of rich tradition. The chief guest for the day was Khaleel A.P, President Officiating, MES Governing Board.

The programme was initiated by a few minutes of contemplative prayer. The chief guest, Khaleel A.P unfurled the national flag, which was followed by the national anthem by the school choir. 

Everyone saluted and pledged to uphold with full honour and integrity. The chief guest enlightened one and all with a thoughtful presidential address by emphasising, “Let everyone of us realise our role and responsibility to get rid of the corruption demon and other social evils. Let’s forget the differences of colour, caste and creed and stand for the greater aims of progress, prosperity, peace and justice.”

The School Principal, Hameeda Kadar, addressed the flag bearer of the future generation to accept the challenges by remembering the supreme sacrifices of our freedom fighters and forwarded the strong message saying, “Our future depends on what we do in the present.” 

The event featured the group dances, patriotic songs, costume presentation, and a video presentation ‘Hallmark Hall of Fame in the last 75 years’ highlighting the glorious past of India. The school auditorium reverberated with national fervour. As a tribute to all the frontline warriors of COVID-19, a musical band performance was presented. 

The guests of honour, Hazmal Ismail; General Secretary Ahamed Isham; Deputy General Secretary MC Muhamed; Director, co-curricular and cultural activities, Firos. K; Director Transport and esteemed members of the school governing board, Principal, school officials, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents, students and the online viewers were wholeheartedly welcomed by the Head Boy, Master Hamd Ashfaque.
