Doha: The last round of the 2014 Qatar International Enduro Championship organised by Qatar Motor and Motorcycle took place yesterday at Sealine with the participation of 34 riders.
Three Kuwaiti riders were the winners in the 2014 Qatar International Enduro Championship in the different categories, E1, E2 and Quads, in a very technical track of 5.2 Km length.
In the E1 category, the winner was the Red Bull KTM rider Mohammed Jaffar. With 7 victories and one second place in the season, Jaffar made an excellent performance during all the rounds and finished the season with 197 points.
‘I am very proud to win this championship and I hope that my sponsors, Adidas, KTM, Red Bull and Sand Garde and Balooshi Racing Team are also proud of this achievement so I dedicate my win to them,” said Jaffar before praising the QMMF.
“Thanks to QMMF for the great effort they are putting here to make this championship happen.”
The second and third classified in the E1 category were also from Kuwait, Abdullah Al Shatti with 159 points and Barak Al Jasmi with 154 points.
Moath Al Ansari got the championship in the E2 category with 163 points in the final standings. Two South African riders, Matt Gilpin and Michael Anderson finished in second and third position respectively in the E2 category.
Fahad Al Musallam was crowned the winner in the quads category with a total of 125 points. Mohammed Abu Issa finished in second position in the overall with 100 points and the Palestinian rider Basem Abuswalleh ended in third place with 87 points.
‘I am very proud to represent my country in this championship,” he said after winning and added: “I love this race, this is exactly what I like, the sand, the mud, the jumps and it is one of the toughest Enduro I have done and prepares me for the Dakar as well.”

Trophies were given by Sultan Al Morraikhi, QMMF Board Member, Rashid Al Sulaiti, QMMF Public Relations Manager and Essa Al Awadi, FIM Asia Vice-President.
