Owendo's new international port was built by Singaporian group Olam and will be partly managed by French logistics giant Bollore. Built in 18 months at a cost of around 300 million dollars (USD), the port is a modernisation of the existing port on the southeastern outskirts of the capital Libreville, the country's main gateway for merchandise to the Atlantic coast, and its commissioning aims at unblocking Gabon's ecnonmy.  AFP / Steve Jordan
