Doha Girls' Forum becomes independent center

DOHA: The Ministry of Youth and Sports has decided that the Doha Girls' Forum, which was following the Doha Youth Center, becomes an independent center, in the framework of the Ministry's plan which aims to turn girls' forums into centers and establish new centers for girls in all areas of the country.

Director of the Youth Affairs Department at the Ministry, Hamad Salem Mjeghir announced the decision during a joint press conference with the Executive Director of the Centre Horiyah Al Ajami on Monday evening.

He said that the decision represents a new beginning for youth work in the state, noting that the goal from transforming girls' forums into centers is to be independent in management and budget, and free to practice their activities.

He stressed the vision of the ministry which aims to empower young people of both genders, noting that the decision will increase the administrative awareness for girls and will have a positive impact on them.

He added that the Minister of Youth and Sports HE Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali is keen on having special centers for girls and the establishment of new centers for girls in many parts of the country to enable them in all administrative and financial aspects and their own activities.
