Bedaya to hold 'How to Establish Your Business in Qatar?' forum

Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, in cooperation with several Ministries and government institutions will host a forum titled “How to Establish Your Business in Qatar?” tomorrow, in the Majlis Ballroom at the Grand Sheraton Hotel from 4pm to 7pm.
This first of a kind forum will be held on collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Trade, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, Civil Defence Department, and others where representatives from all the participating governmental bodies will answer queries and provide a detailed explanation regarding the most important steps and procedures that enable entrepreneurs to start their business in Qatar.
Other governmental bodies that will be part of this forum include — Qatar Tourism Authority, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Ministry of Energy And Industry. These governmental bodies are relevant entities as startups are most likely to need their assistance in obtaining the necessary approvals.
This initiative from Bedaya comes with the aim of providing entrepreneurs the opportunity to get their queries answered and facilitate in transforming their dreams into a reality with the right knowledge from all ministries and government agencies, who will support the entry of young entrepreneurs into the workforce and strengthen the small and medium enterprises and thereby enrich the economic landscape in the country.
On this occasion, Reem Al Suwaidi (pictured), General Manager of Bedaya Center, said, "We are honoured to collaborate with the Ministries and public bodies in town for the wellbeing of entrepreneurs and startups allowing them to know all the details required to establish their businesses and answer all their queries to start their projects, whether small or medium. By hosting the representatives of these bodies under one roof, we are convinced that they will be able to answer the queries of all those wishing to turn their dreams into reality through projects that will support the SME sector in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.”
“Bedaya’s strategy is focused on supporting entrepreneurship and career guidance, and holding such events supports entrepreneurs by explaining the most important steps and procedures that enable them to achieve their desired objectives to keep pace with the country's march towards a diversified economy based on science and knowledge, by providing the optimum environment for launching small and medium enterprises” she added.
During the event, representatives from each governmental body will provide an explanation about the requirements needed for starting a business and then will open the floor for questions from the audience. The main objective of this forum is to identify all steps, procedures and requirements needed to avoid any problems or misunderstandings that entrepreneur may face in the future to start his or her business.
Bedaya Center’s objective from this forum is to enrich the entrepreneurs and enhance their knowledge with whatever they need to develop and familiarise them with national development trends, economic and financial laws and regulations, the rules for the practicing various economical activities in order to encourage entrepreneurship and the development of small and medium enterprises, and contribute to the desired change at the level of the State by providing the necessary support for this category, which is the foundation for the future of Qatar.
