Qatar participates in joint tactical exercise Arab Gulf Security 3

Dammam: The joint tactical exercise for the security services of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States, Arab Gulf Security 3, kicked off yesterday at the Eastern Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, with the participation of Qatar and security forces from all member states.

Saudi Assistant Minister of Interior for Operations Affairs General Saeed Bin Abdullah Al Qahtani joint exercise is being carried out with the blessing of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, based on the decision taken by the GCC interior ministers to conduct the exercise, explaining that the participation of the security services of the GCC countries reflects the keenness on preparing and qualifying their cadres at home and abroad.

General Al Qahtani underlined that the GCC countries share common fate and security, adding that border guards and coast guards were added to this year’s edition.

He noted that this exercise brings together all the security services in the GCC states and includes activities and events that simulate all the assumptions and security risks that any of the GCC states may be exposed to.

The launch ceremony started with a review of the participating security forces, followed by a speech by the commander of the exercise, Major General Shaye bin Salem Al Wadani, who confirmed the completion of preparations of the participating forces to launch joint exercises and activities, which aim to strengthen the bonds of cooperation between the GCC countries in the security field and boost the level of coordination and readiness of the security forces to address all the threats and dangers facing the Arab Gulf region.

Major General Al Wadani said that the joint tactical exercise, “Arab Gulf Security 3”, has been planned since the approval of the GCC interior ministers to launch the third edition of the exercise in Saudi Arabia.
