Doha: Chief of Special Amiri Diwan H E Khalid bin Shaheen bin Ghanim Al Ghanim yesterday visited venue of 13 Qatar International Falconry and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2022)
Held under the patronage of H E Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, the festival is being organised by Qatar Al Gannas Society at Sabkhat Marmi, Sealine until January 29.
Chairman of the Organising Committee of Marmi Festival and President of Qatari Al Qannas Society Ali bin Khatam Al Mahshadi and his deputy, Muhammad bin Abdullatif Al Misnad, welcomed the Chief of Special Amiri Diwan.
H E Al Ghanim toured the festival where he was briefed about the festival and a commemorative shield was presented to him on the occasion.
Al Ghanim also watched the competitions of Hudad Al Tahdi Championship from main stage of the festival. The visit coincided with the holding of the 12 group competitions for the Hadad Al Tahadi Championship, amid a remarkable brilliance for Al Shaheen birds, as it had never achieved such achievements over the previous years of the festival since its launch.
Al Shaheen falcons flew high, extended its sway in the sky of Marmi, chasing Al Zajil pigeon amid a beautiful weather, decorated with raindrops that were falling from time to time.
Yesterday, eight falconers won to qualify for the final of Hudad Al Tahadi championship that in order to compete for the grand prize, which is a Lexus car, and another QR100,000 as each winner of qualification rounds receive QR100,000.
Yesterday’s winners in the Hudad Al Tahadi Championship are: Abdullah Nasser Al Qahtani, Muhammad Saleh Al Nabit, Muhammad bin Othman Al Qahtani, Turki Nasser Al Maadeed, Al Qimma Team, Hajris Muqrin Al Dossary, Hamad Jaber Al Mankhas and Saif Saad Al Hajri.
Speaking on the qualification rounds of 12th group of participants, Chairman of Hudad Al Tahadi Committee Ali bin Sultan Al Humaidi: “Al Shaheen falcons made unprecedented success in the history of the festival as they overcame on Al Zajil pigeon during an important round.”
So far, he said, the number of qualifiers has reached 28, where the qualifier will receive a financial reward of QR100,000 and compete for the grand prize of the championship and festival, which is a Lexus car.
Falconer Abdullah Nasser Al Qahtani, the first winner and qualifier in yesterday evening championship, said that he is participating with his falcon for the first time. He thanked the organizing committee of the Marmi Festival for orgnaising such fantastic competitions.
