Doha: Minister of Finance H E Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari met with several financial and governmental institutions on the sidelines of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) meetings recently.
Minister Al Kuwari attended several meetings with dignitaries including Turkey’s Minister of Treasury and Finance H E Dr. Nureddin Nebati, Italy’s Minister of Economy and Finance H E Daniele Franco, and the US Deputy Secretary of Treasury H E Wally Adeyemo.
During the meetings, bilateral relations were discussed as well as topics relating to latest regional and global economic developments.
The Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organisations and academics to discuss issues of global concern, including the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.
Also featured are seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial system. This year’s events are taking place in Washington, DC, from October 10-16, 2022.
