Doha: The Ministry of Labour has launched a field awareness campaign aimed at educating workers in Qatar’s construction and service sectors on the risks of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in the workplace and how to prevent them.
Organised by the Ministry’s Occupational Safety and Health Department, the campaign is part of broader efforts to improve workplace safety and reduce injuries linked to environmental conditions or unsafe practices during day-to-day tasks.
The initiative focuses on promoting healthy and safe working habits among private sector employees.
It also highlights the importance of taking regular breaks to reduce physical fatigue and avoid injuries caused by extended periods of sitting or standing—factors that directly impact worker wellbeing, productivity, and the overall work environment.
During the campaign, ministry inspectors delivered practical advice and safety guidelines to workers.
These included the benefits of scheduled rest, safe lifting techniques, and ergonomic practices—designed to adapt the workspace to human capabilities, reduce physical strain, and prevent repetitive stress injuries and awkward working postures.
