Doha: Cultural Village Foundation, Katara will be launching a variety of summer workshops targeting children of different age groups and addressing various artistic fields.
Through the workshops, Katara seeks to nurture the artistic skills of children, discover their talents from an early age, and provide the necessary care to ensure their progress.
The workshop begins with the art of puppet making, and includes teaching how to make hand and thread puppets, as well as teaching the art of dramatic games, motor expression, verbal and facial expressions. The workshop targets children from 8 to 13 years old, and will be held for four days, from June 20 to 23, in Hall No. 1 of Building 18.
An Arabic calligraphy workshop will also be held from June 26 to 29, also at the same hall. This is for children aged 8 to 13 years. Al Thuraya Planetarium, meanwhile, will organise a series of art workshops to teach drawing for children, and these workshops will run for a month. Topics include facial expressions, the space princess, my journey into space, space fashion, and the little astronaut. Mothers are allowed to be with their children during the workshop, which will be from June 20 to July 20 in the Planetarium Building, every Monday and Wednesday.
All workshops are held from 4pm to 6pm, and is under the supervision of specialists, in the fields of designing puppet art, Arabic calligraphy, and drawing.
