Qatar FinTech Hub (QFTH), a globally interconnected cluster which brings together a vibrant community of FinTech entrepreneurs, industry experts and investors, is inviting applications for its Hackathon programme.

The successful innovative ideas will get the opportunity to benefit from the QFTH’s incubator and accelerator programme, a great platform providing needful support and environment to innovative ideas related to the banking and financial services industry, which is witnessing major transformation. This will enable the successful ideas to grow and tap the unfolding opportunities within Qatar and other markets.

The QFTH has already started receiving applications for innovative ideas related to financial technology and services. The winners will get the opportunity, suitable platform and all the needful support to rise to the challenge and can play key role in changing the future of payments in Qatar and beyond.

“Winners will be given the chance to be a part of Qatar FinTech Hub’s Incubator programme. Applications are open until July 10, 2020 for the summer cohort of this 12 weeks incubator and accelerator programme,” Qatar FinTech Hub said in its latest Tweet.

The increasing application of robotic automation, AI-enabled services and other tech-based financial products and solutions such as digital payment system has made the FinTech a buzzword in Qatar and other emerging financial centres aspiring to become FinTech hubs.

According to reports, the size of the global FinTech market is expected to reach over $450bn by 2025. It’s a broad and the global industry which is expanding fast serving both businesses and consumers.

Fintech companies integrate various technologies such as AI, Blockchain and other cutting-edge technologies into financial services to make them faster, safer, and more efficient. QFTH, which is co-founded by Qatar Development Bank (QDB), has also roped in several dozens of well-established business leaders and renewed influencers who provide mentorship and suitable guidance for business growth. “We are honored to introduce Somil Goyal, one of our honorary mentors.

Stay tuned every Monday as we introduce to you our members from across the globe,” said yet another tweet.

Goyal is a London-based management consultant with Deloitte MCS. He has performed managerial and advisory roles in major global banks in trading, transaction banking and outsourcing. QFTH recently announced that applications are now open for Wave 1 of its Incubator and Accelerator programmes, catering to both local and global FinTech entrepreneurs and startups who are looking for a launchpad and a hub in the Middle East to accelerate their growth.
