Doha: The Indian Volleyball association in Qatar (IVAQ) is organizing a volleyball tournament in the Qatar at the Volleyball Association Indoor stadium in Hilal.
Outstanding volley players from the Indian community in Qatar along with a few renowned names from India will be playing alongside Pakistani and Sri Lankan teams.
The Indian teams from Qatar are Sanskriti Qatar, Red Apple, IVAQ, and Gulf Industries. This International tournament intends to promote the spirit of sportsmanship and stress on the importance of Volleyball as a sport.
The winning team will be awarded QR 10,000 and runners up will be given QR 5,000.The tournament will see well-known players like Vipin George, Manu Joseph, Kiran Philip and Ratheesh Kumar, who will be joined by national players like Rahim, Jithin, Hafil and Haroon Rashid. Their presence promises a tough and interesting competition for sports lovers.
The tournaments will be held from April 17 to April 20 2018. The matches will start at 8pm. Well-known names in Volleyball like the Arjuna award winner Cyril C velloor, and Tom Joseph will grace the occassion and hold special training session in volleyball from 2pm to 4pm on the final day.
The four-day tournament will also give out outstanding attacker, setter, blocker and all round Libro awards, which will be given on behalf of Jimmy George, Jamaalseer, Uday Kumar and Abdul Basith respectively.
