London---Europe's main stock markets rebounded at the start of trading on Thursday following a recovery in Asia and after the previous day's sharp falls.
London's FTSE 100 index rose 1.09 percent to 6,458.05 points compared with Wednesday's close amid steadier oil prices.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 climbed 1.19 percent to 9,933.45 points and the CAC 40 in Paris gained 1.56 percent in value to 4,262.94.
Europe's indices had fallen sharply on Wednesday, with London slumping 2.35 percent, as deflation fears swept across the region. Tumbling commodity prices meanwhile sent mining and oil share prices crashing.
On Thursday, Tokyo stocks jumped 1.86 percent after two days of losses, as the yen retreated against the dollar, boosting major exporters, dealers said.
