DOHA: The Qatar Digital Government (QDG) has opened nominations for Digital Excellence in the Government Sector Awards — new public sector awards that show how digital government initiatives have improved delivery of public services. The Awards aspire to acknowledge and reward government entities that harness communications technology and modern information technology to provide the best services to all stakeholders. There are seven categories for nominations namely Best Digital Service for Citizens (G2C),
Best Digital Service for Business (G2B), Best Digital Service for Government (G2G), Best Digital Project, Best Digital Service through Mobile Applications, Best Government Website and Best Government Entity in Digital Transformation. To enter, participating government entities should decide which of the seven categories fits the best, download and fill in the entry form available at www.qdg.qa, and then email it to [email protected]. Full instructions on how to complete entries, the closing date and how to submit are included in the nomination forms. The forms should be submitted in Arabic. Nominations are now open and only government entities and ministries should submit their online applications by January 31, 2016, signed by IT Directors from their respective organizations. A judging panel will evaluate each nomination and select those initiatives with the greatest impact on the delivery of services to the intended audience. The winners will be announced at the Qatar Digital Government Forum 2016 later in the year, and the participants will be invited to showcase their solutions in an exhibition.
