Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held a telephone conversation with the Head of the Political Bureau of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) Dr Ismail Haniyah.
At the beginning of the call, the Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas briefed the Emir on the results of the reconciliation agreement concluded between Fatah and Hamas movements. He lauded Qatar’s continued support for the Palestinian cause, Qatar’s role in reconstructing the besieged Strip, as well as its valuable efforts to push the Palestinian parties to end the Palestinian division, reconciliation and unity in the face of the Zionist entity.
The Emir welcomed the reconciliation agreement saying it is good for the brotherly Palestinian people.
The Emir reiterated Qatar’s firm support for the Palestinian people until they achieve their legitimate rights and establish their independent State with East Jerusalem as its capital.
