Europe stocks close down

Paris - Europe's main stock markets tumbled on Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index closing down 2.35 percent at 6.388,46 points.

Frankfurt's DAX 30 lost 1.25 percent to 9,817.08 points and the CAC 40 in Paris shed 1.56 percent to 4,223.24 points.
