GAC and CNA-Q sign MoU to cooperate in education, training

Doha: The General Authority of Customs (GAC) and College of the North Atlantic- Qatar (CNA-Q) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in education, training, programmes development and research. 

The agreement was signed yesterday, based on the commitment of both sides to develop and strengthen ways of joint cooperation in the fields of education, training and exchange of experience. The MoU will serve as a platform that makes use of both parties’ capabilities to raise the efficiency of the General

Authority of Customs’ employees, in line with the Qatar National Vision, that stipulates the importance of developing the skills and capabilities of national human resources.

The MoU was signed by Chairman of GAC, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal and President of CNA-Q, Dr. Salem bin Nasser Al Naemi.

Al Jamal said on the occasion that this MoU meets the requirements for development and the best practices  adopted by both parties. He said that the joint efforts will take the cooperation to the next level and play a vital role in developing human capital, training systems and strengthen knowledge exchange and transfer between both parties.

Al Jamal added that this cooperation will contribute to raising the efficiency of the authority’s employees and will help meet the goals of the human development pillar of  Qatar National Vision 2030. Both signatories are particularly known for their extensive experience and their connection with the most reputable training centers at a regional and international level. As a result, the MoU will be able to provide qualitative and logistical support for the cadres working at the General Authority of Customs.

Commenting on the event, Dr. Al-Naemi said: “The college believes in the importance of cooperation, which constitutes the main pillar for growth and development. We share the same vision with the General Authority of Customs and this led us to signing our agreement today. We believe this MoU will be a driving force for expertise exchange, enriching and developing the skills of students and employees from both sides.”

He added: “Our partnership goes beyond trainings that we will offer to the General Authority of Customs’ employees or the training opportunities that our students will benefit from at our partner’s premises. This collaboration includes creating and developing academic programs and exploring research opportunities. This comes in line with the College’s 3-year research strategy that will be launched very soon to develop research projects focused on national economic needs. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration that serves our Nation and its National Vision.”

Additionally, there will be joint coordination in other possible areas of common interest at the state level. This includes, developing the skills of staff handling  the organization of common events and international activities such as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and other international events.
