Doha, Qatar: Qatar Press Center, in cooperation with Media Development Department of Qatar Media Corporation (QMC), is organising a training course entitled “Political Journalistic Analysis” for a group of journalists, media professionals, and opinion and article writers.
The course is presented by Professor of Political Science at Kuwait University Dr. Abdullah Khalifa Al Shaiji.

Director of the Media Development Department at QMC H E Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al Thani said this course is launched in partnership with the Qatar Press Center with the aim of enabling participants to possess the necessary tools for political analysis.
He added these are important points that journalists and media persons should acquire because of their great importance in raising awareness and enhancing their communication skills with the media.

“We were keen on selecting participants from various media sectors, including newspapers, radio, television, Qatar News Agency, and a number of social media activists,” said Sheikh Khalid. He lauded Qatar Press Center for contributing to the development of journalistic and media work, stressing that there will be more cooperation between the Media Development Department and the Center in terms of organising courses and other activities.
Talking about the course, Professor Dr. Abdullah Al Shaiji said political analysis requires the possession of extraordinary skills that must be acquired by those who work in the media sector.
“Especially since the famous thing about politicians is that they talk a lot but do not say anything. Therefore, it is necessary for every journalist or opinion writer to have the necessary skill that enables him to understand what is going on and know the facts that lie behind the words and behind the political positions,” said Al Shaiji. He said the course, which will last for 5 days, will provide participants with detailed information about political analysis, which will boost their confidence in the issues they face in front of satellite channels or on media platforms in general. Director General of Qatar Press Center, Sadiq Mohammed Al Amari said the course aims to hone participants' skills and provide them with information that enables them to read news from different angles, explore between the lines of events, political statements, and countries’ positions, and understand the crises and transformations taking place in the region and the world. He said the course presenter is considered one of the political experts in the region and has made significant contributions to the analysis of events.
