Doha: The Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) Participates in the 33rd GCC Traffic Week, which kicked off Sunday at Darb Al Saai.
In its pavilion, Lekhwiya displays motorcycles and equipment used in its different tasks, in addition to some of the equipment used by the Qatari International Search and Rescue team in major accidents.
First Lieutenant Nasser Khalid Al Hajri said that the GCC Traffic Week is an opportunity to share experiences through direct meetings or joint seminars, as well as to see the latest equipment, programs and applications related to traffic security and safety.
Al Hajri said that Lekhwiya's participation in the Traffic Week comes out of its role to join the state's institutions in such events and to confirm its interaction with the community in addition to its key role in maintaining security, and supporting all the state's entities.
He noted to the continuous coordination between the Security Parades and Patrols team of Lekhwiya, Traffic and Patrols Department and Al-Fazaa in distributing security and traffic tasks in all areas of the state on a daily basis and conducting joint campaigns in order to emphasize the discipline of the traffic situation.
Moreover, Al Hajri said that Lekhwiya in its pavilion provides awareness guidelines for visitors to abide by traffic rules, noting that Lekhwiya's patrols provide help to anyone who has emergency problem in the street as running out of fuel, or vehicle accident.
Al Hajri said that the Traffic Week is an opportunity to take advantage of different experiences and exchange ideas between the GCC countries in the field of traffic safety, stressing Lekhwiya's desire to keep pace with technological developments that contribute to providing the best services, facilitating patrols' tasks, saving time and effort, developing cadres and providing special training for employees to work professionally during their duty.
